Full size mobility scooters have an excellent range of standard features and optional upgrades. Full size mobility scooters perform well on smooth outdoor surfaces and provide hours of ride time. Their turning radius is typically larger than a travel mobility scooter and they can also have wider overall widths. Make sure to measure your doorways and consider any tight spaces that you might need to maneuver in your home. We always suggest thinking about long narrow hallways and tight turns in the bathroom.

If you weigh over 400 pounds, a heavy duty mobility scooter might be a great mobility option for you. These 4 wheel heavy duty mobility scooters offer weight capacities up to 500 pounds, wider seats and suspension options for comfort, there is sure to be a heavy duty mobility scooter that meets your needs. 

Recreational Scooters 

Recreational mobility scooters are designed with driving ranges up to 55 miles and top speeds of 23 mph. Some of these scooters are not considered medical or mobility scooters, they are just as the category name states, recreational. Do 4 wheel mobility scooters arrive assembled?

• Most units that fold and that are meant for easy traveling are going to arrive pre-assembled. Some units that break apart into two main pieces (the chair and motor base) will require very light assembly. Other units have casters and body plates that are used to customize the color of your mobility scooter which will require some assembly as well. In most cases, there will be some assembly required but nothing serious. If you have a loved one or friend that can help you when the unit arrives that would be helpful otherwise you might want to consider white glove delivery as your delivery option upon checkout.
