Pride Pursuit 2 SC7132 4-Wheel Mobility Scooter
This FDA Class II medical device is designed to aid individuals with mobility impairments. Specifications may change, and speed and range vary with rider load, terrain and battery condition. HCPCS references do not guarantee reimbursement.
An outdoor scooter rather than a trunk-loading traveler
The Pursuit 2 SC7132 is designed for longer outdoor outings, with a 400-pound capacity, pneumatic tires and front and rear CTS suspension. Its top speed of up to 9.3 mph and optional dual-lithium battery arrangement make it relevant for large properties and extended maintained routes. It is a different ownership proposition from a scooter carried to every destination in small frame sections.
The chassis measures 57.5 inches long and 29.7 inches wide, with a 69.3-inch turning radius. Those numbers need to be considered at home as well as outdoors: a storage bay, garage approach or turning area can be the limiting factor even when a path is wide enough. Faster travel is useful only where visibility, surface condition and other users permit an appropriate pace.
Weight and vehicle access deserve early planning
Pride lists 220.6 pounds without batteries, while the standard high-back seat alone weighs 54.6 pounds. These are substantial loads, not a portability claim. Removing serviceable parts may help with handling or maintenance, but buyers should plan around compatible rated vehicle equipment rather than expect a compact-travel-scooter loading routine.
The lithium battery is lighter than many large lead-acid pairs, yet that advantage does not make the chassis light. A second battery also changes the transport configuration. Check a lift's capacity and dimensions against the selected setup, including the seat and accessories. Storage should allow an accessible outlet and space to reach the scooter's controls without having to maneuver around other heavy equipment.
Memory-foam seating with useful positioning options
The standard limited-recline high-back seat is specified at 18 by 18 inches, with memory-foam support and a six-inch slider. Sliding lets the rider tune the distance to the tiller without leaning forward continuously. Seat-to-deck height ranges from 17.9 to 20.9 inches. Assess cushion support, leg position and hand reach together, rather than assuming a high back alone establishes comfortable fit.
The infinitely adjustable tiller includes a USB charger for small devices. Position it so steering does not pull the shoulders forward or force the wrists into an awkward angle. Full front and rear suspension and pneumatic tires can reduce the harshness of ordinary outdoor surface irregularities, but they do not replace appropriate seat sizing. Riders needing a wider cushion or specialized positioning should evaluate those requirements separately from the 400-pound capacity.
Forty miles is an upgrade claim, not the default
The Pursuit 2 uses a 50Ah lithium-ion battery system, and Pride's up-to-40-mile claim applies to the upgraded dual-battery configuration. That distinction is central to choosing the scooter. A longer-distance setup should be selected deliberately; the model name alone does not establish that both batteries are present. Even with the larger arrangement, rider load, gradients, surface resistance and battery condition affect usable distance.
An 8-amp off-board charger is specified. Plan regular charging and preserve reserve for the return journey instead of using an advertised maximum as a route target. The drivetrain uses regenerative and electromechanical braking. Learn the stopping response at low speed before using the higher outdoor speed capability, and do not expect a battery meter to provide an exact remaining-mile calculation after repeated hills or stop-start riding.
Pneumatic tires bring comfort and maintenance
The 13-inch pneumatic tires can provide a more forgiving ride than small solid travel tires, but their pressure and condition require attention. Underinflation can affect handling and distance, and punctures remain possible. Ground clearance is 3.8 inches at the axle, a measurement that does not describe every point under the scooter or justify riding over abrupt curb edges.
Enhanced LED lighting and durable shrouds are part of the manufacturer's equipment description. A hard-top canopy is optional, not included simply because the scooter is shown in outdoor settings. Choose maintained routes and avoid deep loose ground, water, steep cross-slopes or obstacles that can catch the underbody. The Pursuit 2 is persuasive for riders who want supportive seating, suspension and a deliberate long-range lithium option, provided its vehicle transport, tire maintenance and storage requirements are acceptable parts of the daily routine.
