The AL560XL is a fully powered exterior vehicle lift designed for larger power wheelchairs. It raises and lowers the chair on an adjustable platform rather than requiring a manual lift into the vehicle. Harmar specifies securement with a padded hold-down arm and wheel cradles, so the chair can be transported without modifications to the wheelchair itself. The lift is intended for a compatible powerchair and vehicle, not every chair that fits within the platform dimensions.

Capacity and Platform Fit

The listed lifting capacity is 350 lb. The adjustable platform measures 30.75 x 38.5 inches; compare the chair's wheelbase, overall width and length, ground clearance and securement points with the actual platform setup. Check that the hold-down arm and wheel cradles reach the chair correctly without contacting joystick controls, seating or other components. Do not use the earlier 400 lb claim; verify the powered lift's rating against the exact model documentation.

Hitch, Vehicle and Installation

The listing specifies a Class III-or-greater hitch adapter. Confirm the receiver type and rating, vehicle tongue-weight limit, ground clearance, rear-door clearance and the added load at the hitch with a Harmar dealer. Vehicle wiring is required to power the lift; the product offers harness options, and the chosen connection must match the vehicle and installation. Professional installation is available as an option.

Daily Loading and Vehicle Access

A hitch-mounted lift keeps the powerchair outside the cabin, but adds length and weight behind the vehicle. Consider the space needed to approach, transfer, operate the lift and store it when not carrying the chair. A swing-away option is available to help clear a rear door; confirm it is compatible with the chosen lift and vehicle and whether it is included or separately selected.

This unit is delivered via common LTL carrier on a pallet. This will be left curbside for standard delivery. Some carriers schedule delivery appointments.
