Mega Motion Rascal Conquest RSC104 4-Wheel Mobility Scooter
The Rascal Conquest RSC104 is a full-size four-wheel mobility scooter with a 350-lb rated capacity and a maximum speed of 6 mph. It is a candidate for someone who wants a substantial everyday platform and can accommodate its size, rather than a buyer whose first priority is a light trunk lift. The four-wheel configuration has different maneuvering and range figures from the three-wheel Conquest. Those differences deserve attention because the model names are similar, while the space required at home and the work involved in transport are not identical.
A Four-Wheel Footprint Needs Turning Room
Mega Motion lists the RSC104 at 46.97 inches long and 23.78 inches wide, with a turning radius of 51.75 inches. Its width may clear an accessible doorway, but turning through that doorway requires approach space. Check the layout of an elevator, hallway corner or storage entrance using both length and turning radius. The scooter is more than its seat width when you are trying to position it in a confined place.
The four-wheel stance does not remove the need to slow before turns or to follow slope guidance. The brochure's maximum rated slope is 6 degrees, and ground clearance is 2.44 inches at the motor. Use maintained, accessible paths and evaluate transitions before crossing them. A larger scooter may suit longer paved outings without being appropriate for loose ground, deep ruts or abrupt curb edges.
Transport Is a Planned Task
The manufacturer lists 169.2 lbs total weight including the battery pack. The scooter can be disassembled, but it does not automatically fold into a light travel unit. The exact-model dealer table identifies a 55.7-lb heaviest piece. That is a substantial load to raise from the ground and move through a vehicle opening, even when the remaining components are handled separately.
Think through frequency as well as ability. A lift that is manageable once may be tiring when repeated at every outing. Assistance or an appropriate loading aid may suit this model better than assuming independent manual loading. Measure the cargo opening and allocate protected positions for batteries, seat and chassis. If the scooter will stay assembled, make sure storage and vehicle transport arrangements support the complete weight rather than a stripped-down figure.
A Compact Seat on a Larger Base
The standard seat is a 17-by-17-inch compact black vinyl design, with a folding back, height adjustment and a 90-degree swivel. The brochure also describes width-adjustable, flip-up armrests and tiller adjustment. These features help with support, reach and access, but the scooter's capacity rating should not be mistaken for the dimensions of a wide, full-back chair.
Assess the seat separately from the base. Thigh support, knee clearance and the ability to place both feet comfortably affect how a longer trip feels. Adjust seat height and tiller position together, so your hands can operate the throttle without leaning forward. Side access through the swivel function is useful, but individual transfer needs may still require help. Lock the seating position before driving.
Range Changes With Rider Load
The four-wheel Conquest brochure lists up to 16.9 miles per charge at a user weight of up to 200 lbs and 10.5 miles at 350 lbs. That is a meaningful difference for planning an outing. The larger value is not a promise of the same distance at the capacity limit. Grades, battery condition, temperature and repeated acceleration can also reduce the available reserve.
Two 12-volt deep-cycle U1 batteries supply the scooter, with an off-board charger and a charging connection conveniently located on the tiller. Routine charging does not require reaching beneath the seat for the connector. Follow the battery instructions and keep enough charge for the return journey. A battery meter is useful for monitoring state, but cannot tell you exactly how many miles remain under changing conditions.
Controls and Standard Equipment
The control layout includes a key switch, speed adjustment, battery meter, horn, headlight operation and forward/reverse throttle. The manufacturer's braking specification is regenerative and electromechanical. A front basket, rear-view mirror, LED headlight and rear storage pocket are included. Cup holders and extra rear carriers remain optional equipment. Flat-free tires avoid inflation checks, but do not eliminate surface impacts or the need to inspect tread and wear.
FDA Class II Medical Device: Rascal Conquest scooters are designed to aid individuals with mobility impairments. This does not establish suitability for every person or eliminate the need to assess fit, transfers and driving ability.
