Harmar AL301XL Extra-Large Fusion Hitch-Mount Lift
The standard AL301XL is a powered outside platform lift for larger scooters and powerchairs. It has a 36 x 39-inch aluminum deck with adjustable front and rear cradles that extend to a maximum 53-inch span. Harmar rates this model for devices up to 350 lb, and the listed installed lift weight is 102 lb. It is distinct from the heavier-duty AL301XLHD, which has a 400 lb device rating.
Measure the Mobility Device
Check the scooter or powerchair's loaded weight, wheelbase, width, drive-wheel position and any parts that extend beyond the frame. The device must fit on the 36 x 39-inch deck and sit securely between the adjustable cradles. Confirm that the retractors can attach at the intended securement points. Being below the 350 lb limit alone does not establish fit.
Powered Lift, Fold and Restraints
The Fusion lift powers platform movement and folding. Load and secure the unoccupied device using the cradles and self-tensioning Q'Straint retractors as directed, then confirm the restraints and platform are ready for travel. Follow Harmar's operating instructions for loading and travel checks; powered movement does not remove the need for correct device alignment and securement.
Hitch, Vehicle and Accessories
Hitch adapter and wiring options are selected for the vehicle. A swing-away arm, plate riser, battery pack or camera system may be added separately; confirm compatibility and included components for the chosen configuration. Check the vehicle's hitch/tongue-weight limit, payload and suspension with the lift's 102 lb installed weight and the mobility device included. The rear-mounted lift affects clearance and access to a tailgate or hatch, especially if no compatible swing-away option is selected.
Before Ordering
Provide the dealer with the vehicle year, make and model, hitch details and mobility-device model, dimensions and loaded weight. Confirm the 350 lb capacity, platform/cradle fit, wiring, mounting class and optional accessories. Keep the standard AL301XL and AL301XLHD ratings separate; use the model specified for the device's weight and dimensions.
