Golden Buzzaround LT GB108 With microTURN
The four-wheel Buzzaround LT GB108 is intended for the buyer who wants a compact dismantling scooter but also wants to reduce the broad turning sweep associated with many four-wheel designs. Its current microTURN system is the defining difference from the three-wheel LT. The rest of the package remains deliberately modest: a small battery pack, padded stadium seat and a practical basket rather than the larger seating and suspension systems of a full-size scooter. That balance suits short daily outings where indoor access is important.
Four Wheels With a Tighter Turning Pattern
The current GB108 specifies a 41.75-inch turning radius with microTURN. This can help at an aisle end or while approaching a doorway, but it should not be read as a guarantee that the scooter will turn around in any room. Its chassis is 44 inches long, and the listed width is 19 to 21 inches. Measure the route past furniture as well as the doorway itself, allowing clearance for the front corners to sweep through a turn.
The 4 mph maximum speed is appropriate to a small everyday scooter, while electronic speed control permits a slower setting for confined spaces. Contoured hand grips, an adjustable tiller and a color console provide the rider's working area. A good fitting should leave the controls within easy reach while permitting comfortable steering. Tight-turning technology addresses maneuvering space; it does not replace deliberate speed selection or careful judgment on slopes.
Portability Means Several Separate Lifts
The assembled scooter weighs 95 lbs., with five-piece disassembly for transport. The front half is 37.5 lbs., the rear half 20.5 lbs., the seat with arms 19 lbs. and the battery pack 17.5 lbs. The front section is noticeably heavier than the three-wheel GB107's 28 lb. section. A buyer choosing four wheels should therefore compare the actual front lift rather than assume both LT models load with the same effort.
Separate parts can fit around luggage more flexibly than a complete scooter, but loading requires a stable place to set them down and several trips to the vehicle. Consider whether the loader must bend deeply into a trunk or raise the front section over a high sill. Learn the disassembly and reconnection sequence at home before using it in a busy parking area. A vehicle lift may be more suitable if repeated manual loading is difficult.
Seat Size Matters More Than the Name
The standard padded stadium seat is 17.5 inches wide by 15 inches deep, with a 15-inch back. The seat has three height positions, and the flip-up armrests adjust for width. These features help establish a workable transfer and driving position, but they do not convert a compact cushion into a full-size captain's chair. Check thigh support, hip room and the position of both feet while the tiller is adjusted for comfortable use.
The maximum weight capacity is 300 lbs. Allow for the carried load and follow the product's setup instructions rather than treating capacity as a comfort rating. For someone spending several hours seated, a practical sitting assessment can be more revealing than the overall scooter width. The foot deck has a scuff guard and a non-slip surface, useful details for repeated entry and exit without implying that the deck can be used as a step for every transfer technique.
Plan Short Routes and Charge With a Reserve
Two 12 Ah batteries are housed in the removable pack, with a rated operating range of up to 7.4 miles. The manufacturer bases range on a 200 lb. rider, with rider weight, driving surface, terrain and battery type affecting the outcome. A small increase over the three-wheel LT's range does not make this an extended-range touring scooter. Plan the return leg and leave room for detours, gradients and time spent maneuvering.
The tiller-mounted charging port makes connecting the off-board charger more accessible than a low connection by the deck. Electro-mechanical brakes handle the powered driving system, and freewheel mode is available for manual movement. Have that mode change demonstrated and re-engage drive before riding. The braking system should not be assumed to hold the scooter in the same way while it is set to roll manually.
Eight-inch solid tires and 2.5-inch under-deck clearance favor maintained accessible paths and indoor flooring. They do not establish suitability for curbs, loose sand, deep gravel or rough cross-slopes. A front hard plastic basket, side reflectors and red shrouds with a blue set included complete the basic package; rear storage and mirrors are optional accessories. The GB108 is most compelling when four-wheel indoor maneuvering outweighs the extra front-section lift and the intended journeys fit its short-range battery system.
