Golden Buzzaround LT GB107 3-Wheel Mobility Scooter
The Buzzaround LT GB107 is a useful starting point for a buyer whose first priority is getting a scooter into a car regularly. Its modest battery range and compact riding platform make the most sense for shopping, appointments and shorter visits rather than continuous outdoor touring. The three-wheel layout also keeps the front lifting section lighter than that of the four-wheel LT. Choosing this model means favoring a manageable transport routine over the suspension and larger battery systems found higher in Golden's range.
The Loading Routine Is Its Strongest Argument
Golden lists the GB107 at 85.5 lbs. assembled, but it breaks into five pieces for vehicle transport. The front half weighs 28 lbs., the rear half 20.5 lbs., the seat with arms 19 lbs. and the battery pack 17.5 lbs. The remaining basket is a separate small piece. Those figures make the front half the key lift to evaluate, not the assembled total or the weight of the seat alone.
A comparatively light front section can help when a helper must load the scooter several times during a day. Even so, reach and lifting height matter: clearing a high cargo lip with an awkward-shaped chassis is different from lifting a compact object at home. Practice separating and reconnecting the sections before an outing, and make sure the vehicle has room for all pieces without stacking heavy parts against the seat upholstery. Disassembly provides flexibility rather than eliminating the work of loading.
Compact Fit Requires Attention to the Rider
The chassis is 41.75 inches long, with an overall width listed at 19 to 21 inches. Its turning radius is 39 inches. These dimensions suit consideration for indoor errands where the rider needs to navigate aisles and room entrances, but furniture placement and corner approaches still need checking. This GB107 does not use the microTURN system fitted to the current GB108; its maneuverability comes from the three-wheel layout.
The padded stadium seat measures 17.5 inches wide by 15 inches deep, with a 15-inch back. Three seat-height positions let the fitting be adjusted, and width-adjustable flip-up armrests can open the side for a transfer. Check whether the cushion supports the rider's thighs without crowding the backs of the knees. The 300 lb. capacity should be respected, but it does not determine whether a compact seat will remain comfortable through a lengthy appointment.
Controls Designed Around Short Daily Trips
The current LT has a longer adjustable tiller, contoured hand grips and a color console. Set the steering position so the rider can turn and operate the throttle without stretching forward. The maximum speed is 4 mph, with electronic speed control for a slower pace near people or tight corners. A three-wheel scooter should be driven cautiously through turns, especially where the floor or path slopes sideways.
Electro-mechanical brakes are fitted, along with a freewheel mode for manual movement. Have the drive/freewheel change demonstrated at delivery and ensure driving mode is restored before riding. Freewheel is not an alternate parking arrangement or a way to coast downhill. The charging port is on the tiller, bringing a routine task closer to hand rather than requiring the rider to reach down around the foot platform.
Battery Range and Surface Choices Set the Boundaries
The battery pack contains two 12 Ah batteries, with an advertised operating range of up to 7 miles. Golden tests range with a 200 lb. rider and notes that rider weight, drive surface, terrain and battery type affect distance. That makes this a short-errand scooter whose schedule should include a charging plan and a return-trip reserve. The small pack is helpful to carry, but it is not the extended-range configuration of an XL or LX.
Eight-inch solid, low-profile tires avoid routine inflation, while the 2.5-inch under-deck clearance calls for sensible route selection. Favor even indoor floors and maintained accessible pavement; do not interpret outdoor use as an assurance for grass, deep gravel, curbs or damaged sidewalks. Ground clearance is not a published obstacle-climbing height. The lower deck profile also makes foot placement a useful part of the fitting assessment.
A hard plastic front basket, side reflectors, deck scuff guard and the supplied red and blue shrouds round out the everyday equipment. Rear baskets, mirrors and other carrying accessories are separate choices, not part of the basic transport weights. The GB107 is a focused option for someone who values a lighter front lift and tight indoor handling, accepts limited range, and does not need the more elaborate comfort equipment of a larger scooter.
