Proactive Protekt Aire 8000 Bariatric Mattress System

The Protekt Aire 8000 combines low-air-loss and alternating-pressure therapy in a cell-on-cell support surface. Proactive lists a 750 lb maximum weight capacity, 10-inch air cells and four selectable alternating cycles: 10, 15, 20 or 25 minutes. The low-air-loss function manages moisture at the skin interface; the pump also provides static mode, seat-inflate, a low-pressure alarm, control-panel lockout and a CPR release tab. A clinician should select and set therapy for the patient's care plan.

Choose the correct width and rail configuration

Proactive lists 42, 48, 54 and 60 in widths. Its item table identifies item 80080 as the 42 × 80 × 10 in system and 80080RR as the 42 in system with foam raised rails, measuring 10/13 in at the rail. The manufacturer describes raised rails as optional across the size range; confirm the exact rail item number for any other width. Measure the bed deck and verify the complete-system item number, bed-frame compatibility and selected width before ordering.

Setup and operation

The mattress replaces the existing mattress on a compatible bed frame. Follow the owner's manual for installation, pump placement, control lockout, alarm response and cleaning.
