The Protekt® Aire 6000AB is the preferred choice by clinicians treating pressure ulcers. By utilizing the dual therapies of low air loss and alternating pressure, the Protekt Aire 6000AB provides unparalleled pressure redistribution. Clinicians can customize patient therapy with 4 alternating cycles of 10, 15, 20, or 25 minutes. The auto firm mode provides quick inflation, while static mode provides firm support for egress or ingress from the mattress or side edge seating. The pump features 3 audible and visual alarms for low pressure, power failure, and alternating failure.

A unique cell-on-cell design incorporates a one-way valve that will hold air in the lower 4' of the cells in the event of a power failure. Raised side perimeter air bolsters on the mattress mitigate accidental patient roll-outs and reduce entrapment risk. Center cut-outs in the air bolsters allow for safe entering and exiting from the mattress. 18 laser holes keep the patient cool and dry. The stretch nylon top cover is fluid-resistant, antimicrobial, antibacterial, and vapor permeable. For additional safety, the pillow top feature prevents unnecessary head and neck movement during alternating mode.
