Proactive Medical Protekt Aire 5000DX Mattress System

The Aire 5000DX combines a powered mattress with a 3-inch densified-fiber support base. The system supports up to 400 lb and includes low-air-loss and alternating-pressure functions, a digital pressure control and a static mode for transfers. A visual and audible low-pressure alarm indicates a possible airflow problem.

Mattress and rail configuration

The standard system is listed at 36 by 80 by 8 inches. A raised-rail configuration is also offered; confirm which option is selected, since it changes the mattress profile. The base remains available if power is interrupted. Check bed-deck compatibility and room clearance before ordering.

Operation and setup

The pump uses a preset 10-minute alternating cycle and adjustable pressure settings. Follow the owner's manual for patient setup, pressure adjustment, static transfers, alarm response and cleaning. Do not treat the preset cycle as a substitute for an individualized care plan.

Keep the user within the 400 lb maximum and verify that the bed, mattress configuration and care plan suit the person. Check the pump, tubing, mattress and alarm before use.
