Proactive Protekt Aire 4600DX Mattress System

The Aire 4600DX is a powered support-surface system that combines alternating pressure with low-air-loss therapy. Proactive lists a 400 lb maximum weight capacity, a 10-minute alternating cycle and a cell-on-cell support base designed to help retain support during a power failure. A static head section and an automatic Fowler function are also listed. This system is intended for clinical pressure-management use; a clinician should select and set therapy for the patient's care plan.

Proactive identifies item 84600DX as the standard 36 × 80 in system, 84600DXRR as that size with foam raised rails, 84600DX-84 as the 36 × 84 in system, and 84600DXRR-84 as the 84-inch system with foam raised rails. The separate 84600DXAB is a different side-air-bolster configuration, not the standard 84600DX. Confirm the exact complete-system item number and rail configuration before ordering.

System setup and fit

The mattress replaces the existing mattress on a compatible bed frame. Measure the bed deck and verify the mattress dimensions, rail configuration, pump placement, outlet access and cord routing before setup. Follow Proactive's owner manual for installation, pressure settings, alarms, cleaning and maintenance. The current Top Mobility selector links some sizes to Aire 8000-family items; verify that the chosen option is actually a 4600DX before checkout.
