The Afiscooter C3 brings Afikim's outdoor-oriented seating and chassis approach into a shorter three-wheel format. The manufacturer lists a 51-inch length, a 26-inch width with standard wheels and a 50-inch turning radius. That gives it a more manageable footprint than the larger S-series scooters, while preserving a substantial deck and captain's chair. Mid-size describes its dimensions, however, not a lightweight transport routine.

The C3 is particularly worth considering when the route includes both accessible indoor destinations and paved outdoor connections. Its relatively compact steering envelope can help with positioning, and Afikim identifies shock absorbers as part of its comfort design. The trade-off is that this remains a heavy assembled scooter. It should be chosen around daily access, fit and storage rather than the expectation that it will lift into a trunk like a folding travel model.

A Captain's Seat in a Shorter Chassis

The standard seating width is 18 inches. Afikim also lists a wider seat as an option, so the standard chair should be assessed on its own rather than described as if that upgrade were included. Pay attention to the amount of hip room, where the cushion supports the thighs and whether the seat edge presses behind the knees. A compact body can be easier to park while still requiring a careful check of leg position.

The steering tiller is described by Afikim as ergonomic, but its usefulness depends on the rider's reach and ability to steer throughout the intended outing. Settle into the actual seated position before judging the controls. A demonstration should include mounting and dismounting, not only driving forward. If assistance is needed for transfers, the space beside the seat and the placement of nearby furniture are part of the fit assessment.

165 lbs Before Adding the Batteries

The manufacturer's 165 lb weight figure explicitly excludes batteries. It must not be presented as the complete transport weight, nor as the weight of a detachable lifting section. This distinction is central to choosing the C3. A vehicle lift or another suitable transport system is more realistic than an assumption that a helper can carry the assembled scooter after a day out.

Its lower folded height can help with storage or vehicle clearance, but reducing height is not the same as reducing weight. Measure the opening, the parking footprint and the room available for securement. At home, a sheltered charging position reached by a continuous accessible path can make regular use much simpler. Leave room to turn the front wheel without catching a stored object and to approach the seat without stepping over a charging lead.

Shock absorbers can reduce the harshness of minor surface irregularities, while pneumatic tires contribute to the ride and require pressure checks. A pneumatic tire can puncture, and underinflation can affect both handling and energy use. Four inches of ground clearance leave room beneath the chassis but do not establish an obstacle-climbing height. Choose suitable ramps and continuous paths instead of relying on clearance to overcome broken paving.

The C3 uses two 12V batteries as a 24V system. Battery selection and the designated charger belong together; a larger battery specification is not automatically the package supplied with every scooter. Establish a regular charging routine and judge usable distance on familiar routes. Rider load, hills, repeated starts, temperature, tire pressure and battery age can all reduce the distance available, so the return journey needs a reserve.

Afikim lists a canopy, rear lock box, wider seating and a crutch holder as options. Those are separate equipment decisions, not standard features to assume from a photograph. A canopy also adds height and weight, which matters when choosing a storage space or loading system. The C3's strongest proposition is a supportive mid-size scooter for suitable indoor and outdoor routes. It offers more everyday seating substance than a minimal folding model, while asking the owner to accept a heavier platform and a planned approach to transport.
